Do I need to be an E.ON customer to earn points?
No. The SAS EuroBonus points program is open to all EV drivers who charge at public E.ON Drive stations in Denmark or Sweden using a registered credit card — regardless of who supplies your home energy.
How long does it take for points to appear in my account?
Points are credited automatically after each completed charging session. Processing times may vary — please allow a few days for points to appear in your EuroBonus account.
Which chargers qualify for EuroBonus points?
Points are earned at public E.ON Drive charging stations in Sweden with a minimum output of 50 kW. In Denmark EuroBonus points can be earned across all chargers, irrespective of their charging speed via E.ON Drive Public app payment. You can find all qualifying stations using the charger map on this page.
How do I become a member of SAS EuroBonus?
Joining SAS EuroBonus is free and easy. Visit https://flysas.com/eurobonus to sign up and create your account. Once you are a member, simply register your credit card to start earning points at public E.ON Drive charging stations in Denmark and Sweden.
How do I register my credit card with EuroBonus?
You need to be a member of the SAS EuroBonus program to earn points. Once you are a member, visit https://eurobonus.shopping to connect your credit card to your EuroBonus account. In Denmark, you can also pay for charging via the E.ON Drive Public App — just make sure the credit card used in the app is also registered with EuroBonus. Once set up, any qualifying charging session will automatically earn points. No additional subscription is required.
What charging power is available for trucks?
Our truck charging stations offer up to 400kW charging power, enabling fast charging for heavy-duty vehicles.
Are your stations compatible with all electric trucks?
Yes, our stations support CCS connectors, compatible with all major electric truck manufacturers.
Can I reserve a truck charging slot in advance?
Truck reservation is currently available at our Karlsfeld, Germany location by using a web application. It will be rolled out to all our truck charging stations.
Is cross-border charging possible?
Currently, RFID cards are valid only in the country they are issued. A solution for using the RFID cards across our European network is in development.
How can charging sessions be reported to BALM and assigned to vehicles?
Our monthly invoices include transparent charging details that can be used directly for BALM funding reports or internal allocation. Automated integration into fleet or accounting systems is in planning.
Does E.ON Drive use green electricity?
Yes – all our truck charging sites are powered by 100% certified green electricity. This supports sustainable and emission-free logistics solutions.
Do charging cards need to be linked to license plates?
No, currently there is no license plate binding required. Cards can be used flexibly within your fleet.
Is there a fleet management portal?
A fleet portal for central management of vehicles, cards, and charging sessions is currently being developed. Until then, you will receive all relevant billing data directly via email on a monthly basis.
How can I view my charging sessions and invoices?
You will receive a monthly invoice including a detailed breakdown of your charging sessions. An online portal for real-time access to your transactions is currently under development.
How many charging cards can I have?
There is no fixed limit – the number of cards can be flexibly adapted to the size of your fleet.
How can I get access or request a charging card?
You can request an RFID charging card through our sales team. This gives you access to all E.ON Drive Infrastructure truck charging sites at our Truck Tariff.
What are the opening hours of the charging stations?
Our eTruck charging stations are generally available 24/7 and publicly accessible. Exceptions (e.g. at partner locations) are indicated on the charging stations map.
Where are the charging stations located?
E.ON Drive Infrastructure already operates several truck charging sites in Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, and Czechia. More details are available on the charging stations map. Our network is continuously expanding along key logistics routes across Europe.
Who can use the charging stations?
Our eTruck charging stations are brand-independent and can be used by all electric truck operators – regardless of manufacturer or operator.
When will Plug & Charge be available at E.ON Drive stations?
We plan to roll out Plug & Charge gradually starting in 2026 at major highway locations. Updates will be shared on our website and app.
Which cars support Plug & Charge?
Plug & Charge is supported by many new EV models, including those from Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Audi, and others. Check your vehicle manual or manufacturer website for compatibility.
At which charger can I use Plug and Charge?
Currently it is only possible to use Plug and Charge at our Alpitronic chargers (50kW to 400kW). None of our AC charger currently support Plug and Charge.
What is the price for the session started via Plug and Charge
The price is determined by the Plug and Charge contract you use. Please refer to the price list of your e-Mobility Provider where you signed the contract.
Is there also a E.ON contract I can use for my vehicle to use Plug and Charge?
No, at the moment this is not possible.
How do I enable Plug and Charge for my car?
This varies from vehicle to vehicle. Please follow the instructions for your vehicle brand.
What is Plug & Charge and how does it work?
Plug & Charge uses the ISO 15118 standard to enable automatic authentication and payment without an app or RFID card. Your EV must be ISO15118 compliant and have an activated Plug & Charge-capable EMP contract stored. Simply plug in your EV, and charging starts seamlessly. Authentication and payment happen in the background through the contract of your e-Mobility Provider
What is Autocharge and how is it different from Plug & Charge?
The process for the EV driver is identical for Plug&Charge and AutoCharge. The charging station automatically recognizes the car and starts the charging process. Authentication and payment are handled automatically. However, the way the charging station identifies the car is different. With Plug&Charge, your data security is ensured. Due to concerns about data security, several EV manufacturers long refused AutoCharge protocols.
Will you support Plug & Charge or Autocharge in the future?
Plug & Charge is already available on all Alpitronic DC chargers (50kW to 400kW) across the majority of our network. It enables seamless charging with automatic authentication and payment via ISO 15118 - just plug in. None of our AC charger currently support Plug and Charge. Autocharge is not supported yet.
Can I start charging without mobile data?
Yes, you can use RFID cards or pay via QR code and payment terminal without mobile data.
Why do I need the E.ON Drive Comfort app vs. the E.ON Drive app?
The E.ON Drive Comfort app is designed for public charging, showing real-time availability and enabling payments. The E.ON Drive app focuses on home charging.
Can businesses integrate E.ON Drive chargers into their own apps?
Yes, through our API solutions. Please reach out to our technical team for integration options.
Do you offer revenue-sharing models for location partners?
Yes, we provide flexible partnership models, including revenue sharing. Contact our B2B team for details.

What type of chargers does EDRI install?
EDRI installs a range of charger types to meet different needs, partnering with leading European hardware manufacturers such as Alpitronic and Garo. All chargers are thoroughly tested in our own lab before use. The main charger types are:

What vehicles can charge at E.ON Drive stations?
E.ON Drive stations support most electric vehicles (EVs) that are compatible with Type 2 (AC) or CCS/CHAdeMO (DC) charging standards. Always check your car’s charging port and capabilities before connecting. E-Trucks are welcome at our larger sites which offer sufficient room to manoever and chargers with up to 400 kW charging speed. We do not supply charging for bycicles.
How can I view my past charging sessions at E.ON Drive stations?
If you paid via web link or banking card, visit (XXX) to access your charging history. Charging card users can view past sessions directly through their provider’s app or customer portal.
How long can I stay parked at an E.ON Drive station after charging is complete?
We ask that you move your vehicle once charging is finished to keep the charger available for other users. Some sites may apply an idle fee after a certain time – this will be clearly displayed on the charger.
Are prices dynamic or fixed?
Prices are generally fixed but may vary by location and time due to local energy costs. Any changes are shown on the charger screen before you start.
How long can I stay parked without extra cost?
You can remain parked until your charging session ends. After that, idle fees may apply depending on the site.
Do you charge idle fees after charging is complete?
Some sites apply an idle fee to keep chargers available for other drivers. If applicable, this will be clearly displayed on the charger screen before you start.
Who sets the prices at E.ON Drive charging points?
Ad-hoc prices are set by E.ON Drive, based on local energy costs, infrastructure, and market conditions. If you're charging via a charging card, the final price depends on your contract and may include additional fees from the charging card provider.
Can I track how much I'm spending while charging?
If you're using web link payment, your browser will show live charging details. Some vehicles also display energy and cost during charging. The charger screen may also provide a live update depending on the model.
How can I check the cost of my charging session after charging at an E.ON Drive station?
Once your session ends:

Who controls how fast my EV charges – the charger or the car?
Your car controls the charging speed. The charger supplies the power, but your vehicle decides how much to accept based on battery status and system limits.

Does the state of charge affect charging speed?
Yes. Charging is typically fastest between 20% and 80%. Above 80%, your car automatically reduces the charging rate to protect battery health and longevity.
Think of it like entering a highway during rush hour: When traffic is light (your battery is still relatively empty), you can merge quickly and accelerate easily — that's like charging between 20% and 80%. But as the highway fills up (your battery gets closer to 100%), it becomes harder to merge — you need to slow down, find the right gap, and ease in carefully. That’s why charging slows down after 80% — to keep things smooth, safe, and avoid "traffic jams" in your battery.
How long does it take to fully charge an electric car?
Charging time depends on your battery size and charger type:
AC (up to 22 kW): 4 to 10 hours
DC (up to 400 kW): 20 minutes to 1 hour Note: Charging is fastest between 20–80%, and slows as the battery fills.
Why is DC charging faster than AC charging?
DC charging is faster because it delivers direct current straight to your battery, bypassing your car’s onboard converter. AC charging sends alternating current that your car must convert to DC before storing it, which takes more time. DC chargers can offer speeds of up to 400 kW, while AC chargers usually range from 3.7 to 22 kW.
Why is my car charging slower than expected?
Charging speed can be affected by:

Battery level – charging slows down above 80%
Battery temperature – cold or hot batteries charge more slowly

How fast can I charge my electric car at E.ON Drive stations?

Do your chargers support all connector standards (CCS, CHAdeMO, Type 2)?
Yes. Our DC chargers support CCS and CHAdeMO, and AC chargers use Type 2.
What is the maximum cable length at your stations?
DC charger cables are typically 3–5 meters long. AC chargers require you to bring your own Type 2 cable.
Can my car only charge at specific chargers, or can I use any charger I want?
You can use any public charger that matches your vehicle’s connector type and charging capacity. However, charging speed and compatibility may vary depending on your vehicle and the station.
What type of plug do I need for AC and DC charging?
AC and DC chargers use different connectors.
AC charging (up to 22 kW) typically uses a Type 2 plug in Europe.
DC fast charging (50 to 400 kW) usually requires a CCS (Combined Charging System) or CHAdeMO plug, depending on your car. Most public DC chargers have the cables attached, so you don't need to bring your own. For AC chargers, you need to use your own Type 2 cable.
Are cables always attached, or do I need to bring my own?
At DC fast charging stations (50 to 400 kW), the cable is always attached to the charger. For our AC chargers (up to 22 kW), you need to bring your own Type 2 cable.
Which connector does my car use?
Connector types vary by car model. Most modern EVs in Europe use Type 2 for AC charging and CCS (Combined Charging System) for DC fast charging. Check your vehicle manual or manufacturer’s website to confirm.

Do you support route planning for EVs in your app?
Yes, the E.ON Drive Comfort app offers route planning with charger availability along your journey.
Can I reserve a charger in advance?
Not yet, but we’re exploring reservation features for future updates.
According to my app there are 2 different operators for E.ON Drive charging stations.
This is true and we know it can be quite confusing. More than 90% of E.ON Drive chargers in public are operated by us, E.ON Drive Infrastructure. However, a few others are operated by our fellow E.ON colleagues. Usually those chargers are owned by the location partner and operated by E.ON on his or her behalf. You are welcome to use all public E.ON Drive branded chargers. However, we will not be able to help you if an issue arises on a charger operated by the other E.ON team. Our apologies for the inconvenience.
How do I check if a charger is available before I go?
The E.ON Drive Comfort app and other EV charging apps show real-time charger availability. Look for live status updates like “available,” “in use,” or “out of service” before heading out.
Can I use Google Maps or other apps to find your chargers?
Yes! Our stations are listed on major platforms such as Google Maps, Apple Maps, Zap-Map, and other EV charging apps. Just search for "E.ON Drive charger" in the app of your choice.
How do I find E.ON Drive charging stations near me?
You can find nearby E.ON Drive charging stations using apps like the E.ON Drive Comfort app, or Google Maps and Apple Maps. Simply search for “E.ON Drive charging station” and your location. Alternatively, please visit the map on our website.
Are your payment terminals accessible for wheelchair users?
Most of our new sites are designed with accessibility in mind, including terminal height adjustments. Older sites may vary, but we’re upgrading wherever possible.
Do you provide accessibility features for visually impaired users?
We’re working to make our chargers more inclusive. Many stations have tactile buttons and clear audio prompts. Accessibility improvements are part of our ongoing development.

How do I know If a site is wheelchair accessible?
Accessibility information for each site can usually be found in the app or on-site signage. We're working on improving how this information is displayed to make it easier to find.
Are all your charging sites wheelchair accessible?
Not all of our sites are fully wheelchair accessible due to existing design constraints. However, we’re actively working to include more accessible bays in as many of our new locations as possible.
Can I restart the charger myself if it fails?
Yes, you can try restarting by unplugging your vehicle and starting a new session. If the issue persists, please call our support team — we can reboot the station remotely.
What should I do if I experience an emergency at a charging site?
Please call the emergency number displayed on the charger or contact local authorities if needed. For technical issues, our 24/7 hotline is available to assist you.
The charging station is not working or shows an error code. What should I do?
Please report the issue via our customer service or app. If possible, note the error code displayed and provide it when contacting support for faster assistance.
How can I report an issue with an E.ON Drive charging station?
You can report problems via our customer service hotline, the E.ON Drive Comfort app, or our website’s support section. Provide the station ID and details of the issue.
The charger is blocked by a vehicle with a combustion engine. What can I do?
Please report the obstruction to the site owner or local authorities. Blocking charging stations is against regulations and may be subject to fines.
Why is my car charging slower than the charger’s maximum capacity?
Your car controls how much power it draws from the charger. Charging speed depends on your car model, battery state, and other conditions like temperature.

The charger is unresponsive. What can I do?
Try restarting the charger by disconnecting your vehicle and starting the charging session anew. Please make sure to select your payment method first and your connector second. If the problem persists, please call our support team — we can remotely reboot the station.
The charging session fails to start. What should I do?
The order in which you pre-authorize the payment method and select a connector can be decisive to the charging session. Try disconnecting your vehicle, selecting the payment method first, then reconnecting your vehicle. This simple step often resolves the issue.
Why did my charging session stop before my car was fully charged?
Charging sessions may stop early due to your vehicle’s battery management system or external factors like power supply issues. Check your vehicle’s settings and try restarting the session.
What do the lights around the connectors mean at your stations?
Green: Charger is available and ready to use.
White: Charging process done charging.
Blue: Charger is currently in use.
Red: There is a fault or the charger is unavailable.
Do you support Plug & Charge (ISO 15118) or Autocharge?
Plug & Charge is available on all Alpitronic DC chargers across the majority of our network. It enables seamless charging with automatic authentication and payment via ISO 15118 - just plug in. Autocharge is not supported yet.
Is my payment data secure?
Absolutely. All transactions are processed through encrypted and PCI-compliant systems. We never store your full card details.
Do roaming prices differ from direct payment prices?
Yes. When using a roaming card, your provider sets the final price, which may include additional fees. Direct payment prices are displayed on the charger screen and at our payment portal.
What should I do if I was charged twice?
Double charges are rare but can happen if multiple payment attempts were made. Please provide both transaction IDs to our support team. We’ll verify and refund any duplicate payment.
How do I request a refund for a failed charging session?
If your session didn’t start or was interrupted, any pre-authorisation hold will automatically be released within 1–3 working days. If you were charged incorrectly, please contact our support team with your session details and payment method. We’ll review and process your refund promptly.
Does E.ON Drive provide RFID / charging cards?

Can I use my charging card / RFID card at E.ON Drive stations?
Yes, if your charging card is part of a roaming network supported by E.ON Drive, you can use it to start and stop charging sessions. Find our partners here.
Can I use my banking card at E.ON Drive stations? (NFC Payment)
Yes, all major debit and credit cards with contactless payment (Visa, Mastercard) are accepted for NFC payments.
What are the payment methods for ad-hoc charging?
You can pay using contactless debit or credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Google Pay and Apple Pay), or via QR code/weblink payments.
Do you accept Google Pay or Apple Pay?
Yes, Google Pay and Apple Pay are accepted at our contactless payment terminals for easy and secure charging.
Do you offer lower pricing for E.ON Next customers?
Currently, we do not offer special rates for E.ON Next customers.
Do you accept American express?
No, we currently do not accept American Express. Visa and Mastercard payments are accepted.
My Motability card isn't working at your stations. What can I do?
We currently do not accept Motability cards. You can pay using a credit or debit card via the card reader or online by scanning the QR code on the charger.

My credit card is being declined — what can I do?
We accept Visa and Mastercard. Your card must have at least £30 of available funds to start a charging session. If problems persist, please contact your bank.
What’s the difference between RFID cards / charging cards and contactless payment?
Charging cards are subscription-based cards provided by charging network operators (like hotel key cards). Contactless payment uses your credit or debit card to start charging without registration.
Why do you charge a pre-authorisation fee?
Pre-authorisation confirms you have sufficient funds to cover the charging session. The pre-authorisation amount will be replaced by the actual charging cost at the end of your session. If the session doesn’t start or is unsuccessful, this hold is released within 1–3 working days.
Why does the station show £30 as the charge before I even start charging?
The £30 is a pre-authorisation amount held on your card to ensure sufficient funds. This will be replaced by the actual charging cost at the end of your session.
Why have you taken money even though my charging session didn’t start?

Can I get an invoice instead of a receipt?

I paid using an RFID charging card. Can I get a receipt?
Receipts are typically provided by your charging service provider or card operator. Please check your account online or contact your provider’s customer service for assistance.
I paid with my credit or debit card at the payment terminal. How do I get a receipt?
At the station, select “Receipt” and scan your payment card. If you have left the station, you can get your receipt online at [link]
I paid via weblink/QR code. How do I get a receipt?
Visit [link] to download and email receipts for charging sessions paid via weblink or QR code.
What does "Use contact" mean on the payment terminal?
"Use contact" means you need to insert your payment card into the terminal instead of using contactless payment. Sometimes inserting the card is required to stop the charging session.
Help, my charging cable is stuck! What can I do?
First, make sure your charging session has ended. Then try pressing the unlock button twice on your vehicle’s key fob. If the cable remains stuck, please contact our support team — we’re here to help.
How do I stop charging if I pay via weblink?
Scan the QR code on the charger and press "Stop Charging" in the payment interface. You will need to enter the last four digits of the payment card you used to start the session.

Why can’t I see E.ON Drive charging stations in the E.ON Drive app?
The E.ON Drive app is designed for home customers and does not display public charging stations. To find and use E.ON Drive public chargers, please download the E.ON Drive Comfort app.
Why does the charger display 'Not authorised' when I scan my RFID card?
This message usually means that your RFID card is either not supported at this charging station or there’s an issue with the card itself. Please contact your RFID card provider for further assistance.

What should I do if the app says the charger is already in use?
Sometimes the app won't let you start if you've already plugged your cable in. Its always best to follow the instructions on the app and plug in when prompted to do so. Try unplugging and start your charging session via the app before plugging in again.
How do I know which connector am I using?
Just above the socket we show a unique code. It usually starts with GB*UFC. This will be shown on the app you’re using and the charger's display.
Do I need to be an E.ON Drive electricity customer to use your stations?
